The 187 visa program was closed to new applications in 2020. However – individuals who are considered a transitional 457 or 482 visa holder can still apply. You can be eligible for this visa after 2 or 3 years with your sponsoring employer, depending on how long ago you applied for your 457 visa. We will assess your eligibility during our fact find process to provide you a fee esimate for this visa.

If eligible, skilled workers in select occupations can be nominated by their regional eligible employer to live and work in Australia as a permanent resident. Once approved, you are expected to remain in your job for 2 years. To be eligilble for this visa, you must be nominated by an Australian employer, have the necessary skills of the job and meet the English, health and character requirements.

The benefit of the 187 visa program is that you are still able to access English language exemptions where you have studied for 5 years full-time in high school or higher education institutions where English was the medium of instruction.
