Cybercriminals can use any information they can get to impersonate you or someone you know. They can get you involved in fraud, especially by using your information on financial transactions you know nothing about.

If your email is compromised, the attackers can use your email and contacts to persuade others to share personal information, click on malicious links, or open malware attachments.
