Increased Scrutiny in 482 Nominations

Increased Scrutiny in 482 Nominations

In recent months, we have observed a higher level of scrutiny and subsequent refusals in 482 nomination applications. Of particular focus are companies with a lower turnover or where the salary package includes guaranteed overtime as a part of the salary package.

The Department has also stopped asking for further information in these cases and move to refusal of an application where they are not satisfied with the genuineness of the positions.

As a result, Milestone Migration have adjusted their documentation requirements where a higher risk is identified. Going forward, we may ask for more documents than we have previously to strengthen applications against the risk of refusals.

Documents we may ask for may include evidence of financial viability, organisational charts as well as information on how the position became vacant and the detailed steps you took to attempt to hire an Australian before deciding on a visa holder for the position.

The information provided is for general use only and should NOT be taken as Migration Advice. For information about your circumstances, don’t hesitate to get in touch with Milestone Migration for immigration assistance.
